In such a scenario and especially when everything happens on-the-go, page speed optimization and high-end user-friendly website are considered to be game changers.
We were excited to initiate this project and to put our expertise into practice!
We began by building the Shopify Store itself, following the previously given guidelines of our client. One of the key challenges here was to develop a Customized Website Theme while also guaranteeing adequate page speed. Subsequently, we did Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) and A/B testing (also known as split testing) that resulted in improved user experience, increased conversion rate and more sales.

Dogslanding has reached out to us, sharing the website design they want their Shopify Store to be based on. Afterwards, we picked up a suitable theme, which was fully modified by our developers in order to meet the client’s needs and wants.
This customization brought up several benefits among which enhanced branding, seamless navigation, unique layouts and advanced features.
In a competitive world it is nevertheless important to opt for scalability and flexibility. As you can further read we not only built the Shopify Store from scratch and provided a tailored theme solution but also set up various payment and shipping options and optimized the sales process.
Having numerous features and functionalities undoubtedly impacts the page speed. But why does it matter?
Loading time affects conversion rate, user experience, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) rankings and bounce rate.
To allow a flawless customer journey from A to Z, we minified unnecessary code, enabled lazy loading, optimized images, fonts and icons, and applied other advanced page speed optimization techniques.
Despite our hard work, once the Shopify Store was launched, Dogslanding was struggling to achieve its financial goals.
On the one hand, the potential buyers were abandoning their shopping carts the moment they realized there was an extra cost for shipping. On the other hand, offering free shipping on all purchases, regardless of their total order value, led to monetary losses for the company.
To solve this challenge, we implemented a few optimizations such as checkout progress bar, free shipping price options and a free shipping progress bar.
The goal of the checkout progress bar was to show the Dogslanding customers where they are exactly in the buyer's journey. That was expected to prevent them from leaving their shopping carts mid-checkout as well as to increase their confidence in completing the purchase.
We created three test variations of $50, $70 and $90 as the total order threshold for free shipping with the objective of checking if this will bring more profits for the company compared to offering free shipping on all orders as before.
To address the issue of abandoning carts after seeing an additional cost for shipping, we put a free shipping progress bar on the top of the cart page to show the potential buyers how much money they still need to spend in order to benefit from free shipping on their orders. If one of the tested thresholds was passed, a free shipping bonus would be displayed. That, in turn, stimulated the Dogslanding customers to add more products to their carts before completing their purchases.
Even though the focus of the project was to build the Shopify Store of Dogslanding and to develop a Customized Theme Design while ensuring fast loading time, our CRO efforts brought the results below:
Since the beginning of our CRO work for the client, driven by a powerful combination of A/B testing, UX improvements and various optimization experiments across the customer journey, we achieved over 200% increase in Revenue and 30% lift in Conversion Rate.
